Residents at our long-stay houses were treated to a special breakfast last week, joined by His Honour Judge Mark Bishop, Resident Judge the Cambridge and Peterborough Crown Courts.
Our long-stay houses offer settled communities for residents over the age of 50 who have experienced homelessness. Over breakfast the residents, staff and volunteers were able to share with HH Judge Bishop the history of the charity, some of the current projects, and the real difference a home with Cambridge Cyrenians can make to someone experiencing homelessness.
“We were delighted to welcome Judge Bishop to the long-stay houses,” said Clare Bruges, Project Worker for the long-stay houses. “Visits like this can help break down social barriers and improve awareness of homelessness. It’s also just really nice to invite people in to see how unique these communities are and how good they have been for the residents who live here.”
We are grateful for the ongoing support of the judges at Cambridge and Peterborough Crown Courts and look forward to continuing to work with them to improve the lives and futures of men and women experiencing homelessness in the city.
