Cambridge Cyrenians' Meaningful Activities project helps people experiencing homelessness who are in our services to access education, training and volunteering opportunities. We support them on their journey towards employment and independence.

How to access our services

Access to our services is usually via referral from Cambridge City Council or partner organisations. If you are homeless or at risk of homelessness, the council’s Housing Advice Team is the first point of contact.

Our office is open 9-4.30pm on weekdays. If you are concerned about someone who is homeless or rough sleeping, you can inform the Street Outreach Team via the Streetlink website.

From homeless to home...

It only takes one change in circumstances for homelessness to happen. For Jake*, it started with a rotator cuff injury at work. He lost his job, then his home, and found himself sleeping on a park bench in the freezing cold on his first night without one.

When Pete* was referred to Cambridge Cyrenians by his social worker, he wasn't facing immediate homelessness, but he was at risk of losing his independence without urgent support.

When Renée* arrived at Cambridge Cyrenians, she was carrying an enormous amount. She had been living in a women's refuge, was managing a thyroid cancer diagnosis, and was travelling regularly into Cambridge for hospital treatment and check-ups.

The project runs every Tuesday and Thursday, 10am–1pm, across six full-sized allotment plots in a central Cambridge location.
