Accessibility Policy / Statement

Our commitment to accessibility

At Cambridge Cyrenians, we are committed to ensuring that our website and digital services are accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities and those who rely on assistive technologies. We want all visitors to be able to access information about our services, support, volunteering and ways to give, regardless of how they access the internet.

We strive to make our content and digital services easy to use and accessible for as many people as possible. This includes people with visual, hearing, motor, cognitive and other disabilities.

How we make our website accessible

We follow recognised accessibility standards and best practice to ensure our site can be used by everyone. For example, we aim to ensure:

  • Text content is clear and easy to understand.
  • Structural elements (headings, lists, tables) are coded to support screen readers.
  • Images (where relevant) include meaningful alternative text.
  • Users can navigate the site with a keyboard.
  • Colours and contrast meet acceptable readability standards.
  • Content is compatible with current assistive technologies including screen readers like NVDA, JAWS and VoiceOver.

We continually review our website design and content to improve accessibility and usability.

Known accessibility limitations

Despite our efforts, parts of the website may not yet be fully accessible, including:

  • Some older PDFs or downloadable resources may not be fully structured for screen readers.
  • Certain interactive elements or media may not be fully operable with only a keyboard or may have limited captions or transcripts.
  • Some third-party content or embedded materials may not fully meet accessibility standards.

We are actively working to identify and fix these issues as part of ongoing improvements.
