Supporting wellbeing alongside housing

Mental health challenges are a common factor in homelessness and can make it difficult for people to maintain stability and independence. When combined with other challenges, such as substance use or involvement with the criminal justice system, mental health difficulties can become a major barrier to securing and sustaining housing.

What is included in the service?

Many of the people we support experience mental health challenges ranging from anxiety and depression to more complex conditions. Without the right support, these challenges can prevent people from moving forward. By addressing mental health alongside housing, we help individuals build confidence, stability and a more secure future.

Our Mental Health Service provides long-term, specialist support delivered by a qualified mental health professional. The service works closely with individuals, staff teams and partner organisations to ensure consistent, joined-up care. The service includes:

  • Direct support for individuals to improve mental wellbeing
  • Close working with support staff and external agencies
  • Help accessing healthcare, including GPs, psychiatrists and adult mental health services
  • Support to stay active, manage wellbeing and build resilience

Collaboration is central to our approach. By working closely with other services and tailoring support to each individual, we help people move forward in recovery, maintain their housing and play an active role in their community.

Our approach focuses on providing not just a safe place to stay but the tailored support needed to help individuals regain confidence, stability, and independence. By addressing mental health alongside housing needs, we empower our residents to take positive steps toward a more secure future.
