
Mental health challenges are a common factor in homelessness and can make it difficult for people to maintain stability and independence. When combined with other challenges, such as substance use or involvement with the criminal justice system, mental health difficulties can become a major barrier to securing and sustaining housing. We offer a free counselling service and mental health support to help people towards a brighter future.

Our Mental Health Service provides long-term, specialist support delivered by a qualified mental health professional. The service works closely with individuals, staff teams and partner organisations to ensure consistent, joined-up care. The service includes:

Our approach focuses on providing not just a safe place to stay but the tailored support needed to help individuals regain confidence, stability, and independence. By addressing mental health alongside housing needs, we empower our residents to take positive steps toward a more secure future.
Access to our services is usually via referral from Cambridge City Council or partner organisations. If you are homeless or at risk of homelessness, the council’s Housing Advice Team is the first point of contact.

Our office is open 9-4.30pm on weekdays. If you are concerned about someone who is homeless or rough sleeping, you can inform the Street Outreach Team via the Streetlink website.
