Frequently asked questions

We’re here to help people experiencing or facing homelessness in Cambridge. Here’s some answers to our most frequently received questions.

What is the ‘Older Homeless Service’?

Cambridge Cyrenians’ Older Homeless Service supports people aged 45 and over who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of losing their home. We provide personalised support to help people secure and maintain safe, stable housing, move into more suitable accommodation, and avoid returning to homelessness. The service promotes independence, choice, and wellbeing, including support to access GP services and stay healthy at home.

What is supported accommodation

Supported accommodation is stable living environment combined with support services to help you develop skills for independent living. There are lots of different types of supported housing available from different providers, including housing associations, some local councils, and charities like Cambridge Cyrenians. Forms of supported accommodation include hostels, modular homes, flats, and shared houses.
