Meet Kim! She has been a member of the community garden group for two years since she moved into a Cyrenians shared house.
Kim loves her own garden at the house, attends the Community Garden twice a week and this year she joined our gardening team, maintaining all the Cyrenians properties.
I asked Kim some questions about her involvement in community growing.
Q: Why are you involved with the Community Garden?
Kim: I am involved in community growing as I love to be out in the fresh air which is good for my mental health and I like to grow new things. Also meeting new people.
Q: What do you enjoy about growing?
Kim: I love to eat and cook with the veg/ fruit that we grow. And everything always tastes so much better.
Q: What is your favourite veg/ fruit to grow?
Kim: Runner Beans - are not only tasty but also have very pretty flowers.
Q: Do you have any growing tips for first time growers who are wanting to get involved?
Kim: Don't Rush, Be Patient!
We are involved in the Grow a Row scheme run by Cambridge Sustainable Foods this year and Kim's profile will be featuring on their publicity also so keep your eyes open for that.
Thanks for answering my questions Kim. See you at the Community Garden!
