We love a celebration at our community garden. And today, we had multiple reasons to celebrate!
Firstly, 1st November is Samhain, the traditional Celtic celebration of the end of summer as the seasons turn to darkness and death. The celebrations start on the 31st of October, recognised widely now as Halloween.
So, as it was also World Vegan Day, we celebrated with 'Wicked' vegan cakes and cookies.
We did some taste testing. Everyone loved the cakes and cookies.
Claire: "The yellow ones are nicest. the flavour isn't overpowering."
And we talked about veganism and where the ingredients come from.
Nigel: "Eggs come from chickens and milk comes from cows."
We discussed how many products there are on the market now that makes being vegan an easy choice. Excuse Shane's pun below....
Shane: "You can have your cake and eat it!"
We were also celebrating Siobhan's new job!
Well done to Siobhan. We look forward to hearing about how your induction goes.
Here's to more celebrations to come! :-)
