The Cambridge Cyrenians' Pottery Workshop: Space Available for Group Classes and Personal Use. Address: Unit 7, Barnwell Business Park, Barnwell Drive. This pottery workshop is currently being used two days a week – Wednesdays and Fridays - by the clients of homeless services in Cambridge. As a result, the workshop is available at all other times, for any individuals or groups who are interested in pottery and wish to access the facilities. The Site The site occupies two floors and includes two toilets, a kitchen, a rest room (or a potential office), a storage area and parking space. The site can accommodate up to 20 people with the right level of support. What is provided? The workshop can provide materials and equipment for slab or coil work, glazes and access to a large front loading kiln. Aprons and protective gear can also be provided. The project also plans to invest in other equipment, including a potter’s wheel, if there is sufficient demand. We are also able to deliver and collect materials and equipment off site and fire the work at the workshop. Cambridge Cyrenians can also provide trained staff to lead a workshop or assist groups on site. For insurance purposes, if a Cyrenian member of staff is not on site, we will have to create a partnership arrangement to ensure any group or individuals are covered. How much? Access to the workshop will depend on a set donation to the Cambridge Cyrenians, which will cover the use of equipment and materials on site. The cost will be dependent upon a variety of factors, including the period of use, the time of day and the total number of hours required.
